The Root

My original idea that got me building musical instruments.

A four string instrument that uses a mountain dulcimer type tuning. Where the two high strings are doubled (Course).

I have done various tunings scale lengths.

Scale length vary from 17" to 23"

It can be plucked or bowed.

The Root is a great experimental instrument, that allows one to explore many sounds and it also has two separate pickups installed so once plugged in another whole world of soundscape opens up.

It also has an extension tailpiece to host the sympathetic string, that have fine tuners to dial in the right tuning with itself.

Most of my Root builds have been fretless, but I do offer fretted as well.
